Twitter Don'ts

http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0/deed.en
As social media sites increase in popularity; the number of social media advocates rises. Social media sites such as Twitter has been one of the leading sources of communication. Twitter has served the web with numerous advantages for the average individual and businesses. With hundreds and thousands of people Twittering; there have been a number of "Twitter don't s" that have been recognized for social media advocate to follow. One of the rules that the website Ezine@articles author Alan King states is not to Twitter about everything. Mr. King states that Twittering every second of ones life will lead to nowhere. He writes that one should tweet about above ordinary experiences and interesting things. Another of King's dont's is for one not to market every general product that gets in one's way. He states that the way one obtains people's attention is by providing a special product or marketing something that people want. King later writes that one should not post "product image as your profile picture". He states that this is a very poor taste for one to do and a "cardinal sin of Internet marketing". King ends his note by stating that one should avoid curse words for the good of one's image.

I believe that King's tips should be a good start to keep a good image in Twitter. Twitter can be a good social media site that can help one's self interest and the prosper of one's business. If used carefully, Twitter can bring many advantages and prospers to one's social media experiences.

That article is just another in a long line of people pontificating on how Twitter should or shouldn't be used.

This blog post sums up how to use Twitter perfectly and is far more relevant (in my view, anyways):

Like the post says, unless it's breaking Twitter's terms of service, use it exactly the way YOU want to.

I love Twitter. I really enjoy using it to network. These tips are really helpful, and honestly I wish more people will read them because it gets really annoying when people post stupid things over and over. Twitter is a great tool, but only if used correctly.
